Influences from Bordeaux in combination with Tuscan craftmanship we produce a powerful wine made from 100 % Petit Verdot.
Petit Verdot is a grape commonly found in the Bordeaux region, and it gives a powerful taste of dark berries. It is usually difficult to get a harvest of sufficiently high quality to make a single variety Petit Verdot and it is therefore often instead used to add character to blended wines. At Terreno there is a spot where it thrives – perhaps even be the best location for Petit Verdot in the world.
With a yield as low as 600g per vine and both fermentation and maceration in open vats followed by maturing in barriques we make a muscular wine. It has a scent of blackcurrant and blackberries and notes of coffee and chocolate from the barrels. Tannins and acidity give the wine enough strength for a long maturing.
